14 | Snowball Effect | Louis Lagayette

In Episode 14 of Vision & Graft I'm talking to Louis Lagayette, a Director who is known for directing the feature film Trendy as well as directing and writing many other projects both short and long form.

In this episode Louis and I discuss his latest project, a series of 3 music videos for the artist Maes called Réelle Vie. He then shares his journey to becoming a director and screenwriter.

We then chat in depth about how he managed to make his first feature film Trendy and raising the finance for the film straight out of university. I also worked as the director of photography on the film.

Louis and I share our thoughts on pushing ourselves and understanding our physical limits when working in the film industry. Louis then goes on to reflect on his choice to return to formal education as an adult, recently completing a masters at Columbia.

Finally we talk through the importance of maintaining the right atmosphere at work and the value of role models in Louis' career and having the right perspective on this.

In this episode I also discuss the launch of a new lighting diffusion comparison tool in collaboration with ROSCO. It is available online and to save as a shortcut or app on Apple and Android devices. To find out more visit rwpreisner.com/diffusion

During the break I announce a competition I'm running alongside Rosco to win a Rosco MIXBOOK Digital Swatchbook. Full T&Cs are available at visiongraft.com

Vision & Graft aims to inspire action, give hope, build resilience and normalise the discussion of mental health issues within creative sectors as well as more widely throughout society.
